“Can you create a fusion between high excitement, the learning of core math and science principals and fun with robotics and digital media this summer?”

We are seeking passionate summer camp teachers and councilors who love technology and digital media are feel it is possible to bring kids to a place where they are engaged, excited and simultaneously learning real academic skills in science and math.  We seek teachers and councilors who thoroughly know the technology skills that they are teaching, have had indications that they are good teachers (either with previous teaching experience or with experiences working with others), and who love helping kids reach their full potential.

Robotics Programming Instructors

This is a position for a person who will bring a deep passion and sense of mission for teaching boys & girls how to program robots to perform all manner of intricate maneuvers as campers advance through a series of progressive challenges.  The boys & girls in our program are smart, confident & brimming with creative ideas and solutions… and looking for a role model to help lead the way.  A successful candidate will be able to establish a critical mentoring and guiding relationship with their students to help them solve problems and overcome challenges.

Candidates for this position should have the following skills, experience and attributes:

-Experience with advanced programming in Mindstorms software with data wires, data logging and programming the NXT brick with robot C java languages or other languages capable of being downloaded onto an NXT brick…yet an ability to teach younger campers just learning about programming in a block-based environment.

-A thorough knowledge of robotics, particularly NXT 1.0 and 2.0 systems, Bluetooth connections, various aftermarket sensors, the lab view software they ship with, their firmware, and creative possibilities of their construction.

- A natural connection and affinity for teaching and mentoring boys & girls from the youngest (in first and second grades) all the way to the oldest (7th and 8th grades) in a professional teacher – student setting.

- Experience with teaching, mentoring and or coaching elementary and or middle school aged boys & girls.

- Fun, creative campy, can-do attitude.

Outside Adventures Specialist

Do you have an irrepressible spirit of fun and adventure that unfolds in the summer sun?  Were your favorite periods at school recess and PE?  Do you work as a coach PE teacher during the school year?  Fun Bot Lab is seeking a spirited and fun camp councilor to organize and lead the outside fun and games section of our camp by working directly with councilors and campers.

Candidates for this position should have the following skills and experience:

- Experience organizing outside games and activities in a school or camp setting or previous experience as a coach or a PE teacher.

- An irrepressible fun camp spirit that knows how to motivate and work with kids from the ages of 6 to 13.

-Willingness to train to or currently holding CPR and first aid certification.

-Ability to work with other councilors and staff to organize activates.

-Willingness to thrive and enjoy work in an outdoor summer environment.

Digital Media Production Specialist

Do you have a passion for and proficiency in digital media production, (particularly imovie)? Can you take hold of a production pipeline with multiple campers movies and rapidly add soundtracks, title them and help upload them to the web?  Can you create, excite, motivate and teach kids what you know?  We are looking for someone with core skills in three areas - listed in order of importance:  1. Digital video, (imovie , Avid or Final Cut Pro or other) 2. Digital audio & music (any advanced DAW such as pro tools or Logic and their related hardware)1. Photoshop (or its equivalent)

Candidates for this position should have the following skills and experience:

- Experience using digital media of all kinds and a portfolio of images, video and sound

-A sense of seeing through the boundaries of the different mediums in media

-A sense of quick & efficient production to guide multiple campers through a 5-day production process resulting in a short film or movie.

-Ability to collaborate and work with others

Digital Media Instructor

Do you have an artistic passion for and proficiency in digital media of all kinds? Can you excite, motivate and teach campers what you know?  Does your perfect day involve teaching a room full of campers how to make a LEGO Star Wars movie?  Or teaching kids how to use a digital camera and manipulate the images in Photoshop?  We are looking for instructors who can help run our insanely popular LEGO Star wars stop-motion moviemaking workshops as well work with photography, video and graphics programs.

Candidates for this position should have the following skills and experience:

- Experience and enthusiasm with using digital media of all kinds.

- Natural enthusiasm for learning new technologies

-A sense of quick & efficient production to guide multiple campers through a 5-day production process resulting in a short film or movie.

- An ability to collaborate and work with team members to help produce camper movies in a one week timeline.

- A natural connection and affinity for teaching and mentoring boys & girls from the youngest (in first and second grades) all the way to the oldest (7th and 8th grades)  in a professional teacher – student setting.

- Experience with teaching, mentoring and or coaching elementary and or middle school aged boys & girls.

Robotics Building Instructor

This is a position for a person who is absolutely delighted at the prospect of overseeing a class of kids building LEGO robots, simple machines and other contraptions all summer long.  A successful candidate will be able to establish a critical mentoring and guiding relationship with their campers to help them build robots according to plans and to come up with creative inventions of their own.

Candidates for this position should have the following skills, experience and attributes:

- A pure burning love of helping campers to build LEGO models of all stripes and sizes – from the most elementary kits to all the way to NXT kits, specialty parts and everything in between.

-A thorough knowledge of robotics, particularly NXT 1.0 and 2.0 systems, Bluetooth connections, various aftermarket sensors, the lab view software they ship with, their firmware, and creative possibilities of their construction.

-A love of organizing LEGO parts by keeping the work areas organized so as to allow all campers to experience a great building environment.

- A natural connection and affinity for teaching and mentoring boys & girls from the youngest (in first and second grades) all the way to the oldest (7th and 8th grades)  in a professional teacher – student setting.

- Experience with teaching, mentoring and or coaching elementary and or middle school aged boys & girls.

Aftercare Specialist

Are you a caring person that thrives on building relationships with campers in an after school setting?  Do you thrive in quieter environments giving campers personal, interactive attention?  After care specialists are charged with looking after our campers between the hours of 3PM to 6 PM. and set the ending notes of a campers day at Fun Bot Lab.  Aftercare specialists should have reliable transportation be committed to work for the entire camp schedule.

- Candidates for this position should have the following skills and experience:

- Experience with working with kids from the ages of 6 – 13 in a school or camp setting.

- Enthusiasm for building relationships with individual campers and their parents.

- Enthusiasm for playing games, initiating fun activates and otherwise interacting with campers in an after school environment.

Aftercare specialists can expect to earn between $10 to $15 and hour this summer depending on experience.

Fun Bot Lab Interns

Do you love robots, digital media and creative technology?  Would you like to spend your summer surrounded by like-minded campers intent on having summer fun?  Fun Bot Lab is looking for summer interns to join our team to help us have a fantastic summer.  Summer interns will enjoy access to upper level robotics and digital media classes and will spend their time leaning about new technologies as well as assisting councilors in their duties.
